Q: How can i, control the physical symptoms, of driving test anxiety, PLEASE HELP ME?
I know i've already asked this. But i really need help and advice please. Suffer from really bad anxiety symptoms : Sweating Trembling Feeling sick Pounding Heart Very dry mouth.- So dry i can't swallow, or speak. Are these symptoms normal? Why do i get them? Really need advice on controling them, please Thankyou

A: Just think, everyone has to do it. If you fail, you fail! The only person that had seen what you have done wrong if the person who is giving the test. I am sure whatever you do, they have seen worse! I took my drivers test several times and had similar symptoms. Just relax. Really. Take deep breaths frequently, it really does help. Remember, no one is watching except for the person grading you.

Q: Can you have anxiety symptoms but not feel anxious?
I suffer from chest pains, dizziness, shortness of breath, left arm pain, tender chest. Ive had every heart test going and docs say its fine.Lungs are fine, blood fine. They all say anxiety but I dont feel anxious. So can you have anxiety symptoms but not feel anxious? The only think I can say is that I have a poor posture so I can see how this can manifest itself into pain all over but can it cause all these? thanks for reading

A: Yeah you can have anxiety symptoms without feeling anxious. I do all the time, except I have sweaty hands and a dry throat and I don't feel anxious. I just try to ignore these and focus on something else like exercising, reading, or some other hobby, and these symptoms usually go away. Hope this helps

Q: Is there a good herb to help heal anxiety symptoms?
If so, what is it called? How does it make you feel? Is it liquid, tablets, caplets? (I'm picky on taste.) due to anxiety I have been unable to eat, and I need something that will calm me down enough to eat without fearing that I am going to vomit. (I'm an emetophob) Please let me know how well it works for you! Thank you.

A: Honestly no herb is proven to work except maybe marijuana.

Q: Will physical and mental symptoms of anxiety vanish after getting out of depression?
I suffer from weird mental symptoms of depression and anxiety due to problems i faced and still face since 3 yrs.. some of these symptoms are irrational thoughts and breathing problems.. what i want to know is that when i fix my problems and get out of depression, will these weird symptoms go?? Will i return normal? Please ppl who don't know don't answer thx :) I prefer answers from ppl who experienced these symptoms before.

A: Yes definitely you will return to your normal self. Anxiety & depression create a lot of weird thoughts, u can get out of the shower and all of a sudden your heart is beating fast, you find you can't breathe properly, you want someone to help, but .. how will they understand??! The thing is, sometimes you can't fix things by yourself, sometimes you need help. Sometimes you have to tell someone how you actually feel. Three years is a long time to carry it by yourself, let someone else help you! Think about someone you can trust; email them, text them, write to them. Tell them you need to talk to someone, tell them what you need or don't need from them (eg lectures about right & worng). It took me awhile to trust, & when I did, I had to choose the right people. They are out there sometimes you just have to let them know. Be brave. Good luck xx

Q: What is the best medication used to effectively treat these anxiety/panic symptoms?
I have been on lexapro 20 mg for almost 2 years because of depression, but recently I have been feeling like maybe its not working??? i am wondering what actions to take to get on a good reliable medication that will treat these symptoms:constant tension, worry, (i also have been diagnosed with adult add)-the lack of concentration and drive to do daily activities, low energy, some days i will only get 2 hours of sleep while others I could sleep all day and still wake up tired as hell. I am always tired, and lately i think i have been having panic attacks...in a stressful situation-mostly when i interact with other people. I get this like paranoid feeling that I doing something stupid (maybe i am who knows, i sometimes care...sometimes i don't) or that other people are thinking that I am crazy by the way they look at me or talk to me. i know its wierd. But the anxiety is really start to eat away at me here lately. I don't understand why this happens, i used to be the cont'd....... I used to be such a sociable interactive person...but the medication just is not working. I have heard of some medications to take this edge off (or chemically balance?) me, but what are some to recommend to talk to my doctor about?

A: Is a psychiatrist specialized in these disorders supervising your meds or just your GP? If you aren't seeing a psychiatrist I'd advice consulting one It's always best to get treatment from people with the most direct experience with what you are dealing with. They could put you on Xanax for anxiety, it is a benzodiazapine. Benzos are really effective but the problem with them is that they can have a zombifying effect, "numbing people out" to where their personality is affected. Still they are still sometimes used for severe anxiety. Are you on stimulant meds for ADD, I use a combination of concerta for ADHD and lexapro for anxiety. Have you received therapy for the anxiety attacks? Behavioral and cognitive therapy is normally very affective in treating anxiety problems. Here is a URL that can help you find a behavioral/cognitive therapist: http://www.aabt.org/members/Directory/Clinical_Directory.cfm One last thought, I hope you don't smoke marijuana, I was a daily pot-user for 5 years until I figured out that the natural amotivated nature of ADD is SEVERELY exacerbated by the additional amotivational affects from the cannabis. Good luck.

Q: How long do the symptoms of anxiety attacks usually last?
I went to a concert last night, came home a little shakey and jittery. It was the normal symptoms for an anxiety attack, tightness in chest/throat, shaking, etc. I thought I calmed down, but I just woke up after sleeping for 5 hours, when I usually sleep for like.. about 9, lol. I feel like I'm going to throw up, but not in a sick kind of way, my throat just feels weird. I dealt with these symptoms before, but they usually don't last overnight for me. I think I'm calm, I'm taking deep breaths and all the other stuff, but it doesn't seem like it's helping. Is there anything you can recommend to make these symptoms go away a bit faster?

A: 30mins. See panic attacks and anxiety at http://www.ezy-build.net.nz/~shaneris on pages 8, and 6.

Q: How long do anxiety symptoms last?
Ive had a couple of panic attacks for the past month and have some symptoms. One of them is that I have loss my appetite, but its weird because I can eat things that I really enjoy eating. I get sweaty hands all the time but its not like im having a panic attacks at the time. Also when I go outside or something it feels like the world outside looks like a dream. I get panicky sometimes when that happens. I dont know what to do anymore, any help would be appreciated THANKS

A: Yeah i have that alot too. Anxiety symptoms last as long as your anxious though. So just try and relax. Take some deep breaths, in through your nose, out through your mouth, and this should make the physical symptoms of anxiety some better, such as the sweating and stuff, but the feeling of being in a dream might become a bit worse. Maybe think about seeing a psychiatrist or something. I know it snot very fun, but its better than feeling like that.

Q: I have some symptoms of social anxiety even though others may not be able to detect it through my fascade but?
I don't have all the symptoms of social anxiety, but I might have minor anxiety at times. So I haven't gone to class 3 days straight, now I'm afraid to go back. I don't know if I have the strength and courage to be in the social environment classrrom full of people who will probably stare at me because I haven't been to class like 1 week. What should I do?

A: There are two choices here: either you go back and act like nothing is wrong/or apologize to the instructor privately or you let your fear of what others think of you control your life. I suggest the former rather than the latter. Honestly, 90% of the people in the world are so consumed with their own issues that they might have noticed that you weren't there but may have imagined that you had something far better to do than to sit in that class (maybe you did). People are so into what they're doing that they infrequently pay attention to others - don't worry so much. It will be okay if you act like you deserve to be there.

Q: what are the main symptoms for anxiety?
what are the main symptoms for anxiety and do you need all off them to suffer from it?

A: Your heart beats fast, you get headaches/chest pain, you shake, depression can be a part of it. Look for anxiety in a copy of the DSM.

Q: What symptoms have you had that have let you know you require anxiety medication?
I think that I may have an anxiety disorder and in hopes of helping me make a pre-physician visit self diagnosis, I was hoping that I could hear a few stories from others who have suffered with anxiety. What kinds of symptoms did you have that made you think you might have problematic anxiety? What success have you had with any medications that your doctor has enrolled you in? Thanks in advance!!

A: When I have anxiety attacks or panic attacks. I hyperventilate, which of course gives you a feeling of shortness of breath. It makes me feel weak like all my muscles are going limp. I feel like where ever I am at the time, I need to get up and leave the room and be by myself. I tremble inside and feel like I do not have control of myself. It is more scarry when you are driving and have one. I take xanax right now for mine but it is not a cure. It calms you down temporarily.

Q: How come CHEST PAIN is one of the symptoms of ANXIETY?, what exactly is causing the chest pain?
I know that chest pain is a common symptom with people who suffer from Anxiety but i want to try get down to the actual root of it as to why exactly Anxiety does cause chest pains? im asking cause i happen to be one of those people who do suffer from Anxiety & i get chest pains ALOT my chest feels like its tightening up or its like a pressure feeling along with the pain but im not qiet sure why the chest pains occur? so could someone please explain specifically why the chest come with Anxiety? Thank You.

A: well, when people are anxious and worried they usually have problems breathing. not so much like asthma but becoming breathless and stuff. and when that happens less oxygen gets inside you which then causes your body to respire anaerobically (respiring without oxygen). when this happens your muscles produces lactic acid, and the build up of the lactic acid is what causes the pains in your chest. this is also why when you run sometimes you get a "stitch" in your side or muscle cramps. you are probably not breathing properly. so next time you get anxious and stuff or go running, remeber to take deep steady breaths, and you might notice a difference. :D

Q: Does anyone else have these anxiety symptoms?
Facial muscle tension where you cannot properly smile or do the normal range of expressions without shaking, not wanting to be looked at while talking to people or otherwise, imagining what other people think of you in everyday situations, being generally very nervous... (This began while smoking weed, don't know if there is a connection.) Anyone else?

A: yeah smoking does aggravate anxiety. i suggest you go into rehab if it's an addiction difficult to overcome. cuz smoking changes your life for the worse, and yes it does make you more anxious.
