Extra information: I have generalised anixety for about 8 months, do exercise, dont drink caffeine/beer, seeing a psychologist who is getting me to do breathing/relaxation exercices, and take mersyndol as a casual anxiety med as recommende by doctor for times of dire need not everyday.
A: It's good to know that you prefer to use natural remedies for anxiety. This way you won't have to deal with the side effects common to prescription drugs. I know of an homeopathic treatment for anxiety, panic attacks and irritability called PureCalm. Its herbal formulation provides a calming effect by lowering blood pressure, relaxing frayed nerves and revitalizing the nervous system. Try the link below for additional info.

Q: How do you get rid of natural anxiety?I go out and I get it, it's like it just pops out of no where?
And the really bad emotional feeling I get makes me feel sick, and it happens when I do alot
A: I suffer from anxiety as well. You just have to learn on how s the best way for you to control it. I started on and anti depressent for 6 months but no longer require it .That was just to balance out hormones to the brain. Now when I gett them it is usually at night and if Ive had a stressor within that day. I tell myself that I have to beat it . I tense up every single part in my body and hold it for as long as possible and then slowly let my body release and relax completely .you may need to do this a few times to get relief. It a relaxation technique and it works for me .Give it a go.When you go out just do short amounts of time gradually increasing till it no longer worries you .This may also help with you feeling less anxious. Cheers
Q: Anyone know of any good natural anxiety/depression supplements?
Has anyone tried any anxiety or depression supplements with good results or know of someone who has experienced worthwhile results while on them? They offer so many "promising" products online but it is hard to tell whether or not any of it is legit.
A: Hey I answered your email. I forgot to add that:
I took the Panicyl ad to my DO and he said stay away from it because it contains fillers and herbs that may hurt me. Instead, he said Neuroreplete is pure 5HTP and l-tyrosine. So he liked that better.
Lemon balm works for me too and my DO said to throw in some GABA with the Neuroreplete if I need it-but I haven't tried it yet. The lemon balm capsules are gentle and mild and help to relax you but keep you alert and they will get rid of knots in your stomach. I take that rarely but when I need it. There are no side effects unless you are allergic to herbs in general-take it with food and water. It's good for many other things too and it's a member of the mint family.
I'm also doing cognitive behavioral therapy which is working out too but the supplements are a necessity for me-as you will read about in the email! Good luck! BTW here's some info on lemon balm (not to be confused with lemon grass found in teas)

Q: Are there any natural ways to overcome anxiety?
I exercise about 4 days a week or more, eat fairly healthy and have been doing all of this for over two years. I still am suffering from anxiety problems, my muscles tense up throughout the day, I feel my heart race when I think negative thoughts, and I cannot sleep through the night. I wake up and toss and turn dozens of times. What other natural way can I go about fixing this?
A: Try progressive muscle relaxation. Here is a website I found that guides you through the process. it is a great stress reliever!
http://www.guidetopsychology.com/pmr.htm
Also try diaphramatic breathing. This is a really great way to de-stress yourself, especially at high stress times when you feel your heart racing. Here is a site that may help you with this:

Q: What are some natural effective ways to relieve anxiety?
My friend is 17 and she's always stressed and suffers from anxiety....I can't bear to see her like that so what are some effective yet natural ways to relieve anxiety....NO medications! I want her to know I care too...that's why I'm doing this, because I want to help her. So, should I give her something sweet or meaningful too? Or how should I present this to her?
By doing something sweet or meaningful, I mean a sweet gesture that shows that I care and I want to help her through this.
A: Meditations is a completely drug free way of getting ride of any type of congested energy. It is hard to introduce new things and confront people about there pain but it can be done. Meditating helps a person get inside themselves and heal the cause of anxiety instead of suppressing it. There are several ways to practice this.
Meditation really helped get through many of my hard times and healed or completely rid of any more continuing symptoms. Here is a website with Free Tips On Meditating!

Q: Natural anxiety relief questions?
I've been struggling with anxiety recently but do not want to go to the doctor nor do I want to take prescription medication. I've seen a couple of websites showing all natural relief to anxiety. The 2 that I have seen are CLAROCET NRI and SEREDYN. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these supplements and what they think about them. Please help, any info would be most appreciated.
A: Along with the two brands you mentioned you might also want to check out Panicyl - http://www.panicyl.com
It is a natural alternative to antidepressants that works very effectively.
Aside from a good natural remedy you might also find some good information on cognitive techniques to beat anxiety including:
-learning breathing techniques to stop an anxiety attack
-avoid caffeine, alcohol, and sugar
-incorporate anxiety-friendly foods into your diet
-take a class on yoga or a similar art
-seek out forums on the internet with other anxiety sufferers
Hope this helps! God bless!
Q: What are some natural ways to treat depression and anxiety?
I have been living with extreme depression for years. In 2007 I experienced my first bout of panic attacks and anxiety developed as well as hypochondria. I won't take western medication unless I absolutely have to. So instead I look more towards natural methods of healing. What are some ways to help control and prevent depression, anxiety, panic attacks and especially hypochondria? Advice, personal experience and links are welcome! Thanks!
A: I lived with depression for decades, tried different kinds of anti-depressants, but nothing seemed to work until I tried St. John's wort. I'm still upset that no doctor thought to try it in that time, it's usually the first thing tried in Europe rather than expensive medication.
I wasn't expecting anything at all, but the effects were immediate and dramatic. I had been living with depression for so long, I didn't remember what not being depressed was like. I remember thinking, "So this is what anti-depressants are supposed to do."
I also take Valerian root and melatonin for sleep and depression and fish oil which promotes brain function and has tons of positive physical effects. At the same time, I quit using vegetable oil and margarine, switched to canola or olive oil and real butter.
Q: Any natural treatments for intense anxiety?
I have always suffered from anxiety. I am having financial problems and emotional problems with my family. I'm to the point where I can't even function to attempt to resolve these issues. I don't have health insurance (or cash) to see a doctor or get medication. Do you know of any natural ways I can try to ease my anxiety enough to focus and function somewhat in my life? Thank you.
I have no one that I know that I can talk to about this either.
Single and live by myself.
Thank you, gianina.
A: I have had anexiety disorder for the past 15 years, and troughout those years I have pretty much tried any doctor, crazy medication etc.
What I would suggest now is "Panic Attacks Woorkboo", by DAvid Carbonell,Phd. The only way to beat this disorder is to help yourself. Forget about doctors and pills(harmful chemicals), even if you have insurance I wouldnt suggest you go to the.
Also try meditation, and excerise! Good luck!
Q: Is there a natural way to help with social anxiety?
I have social anxiety and would like to know if there is a natural way i can take care of this that i could make...or maybe a pill that i could buy at a store without having to go to a doctor?
A: Honestly, go to a doctor, its worth it. Their is not a single reason not to.
Q: Has anyone ever taken a natural supplement called CalmAdvantage for anxiety?
If so, did it work for you? If not, what natural supplement will help with anxiety?
A: The best thing I ever did for my anxiety was this....
1. It will never hurt you.
2. You are completely in control and feeling the same feelings as everyone else, you only interpret it negatively.
3. Breathe deep and as slowly as you possibly can.
4. Make jokes of what you area affraid of or worried about.
5. Speak to yourself positively and keep doing it no matter how stupid you think it is or how stupid you think it sounds.
Soon you will see that there is nothing to fear. And if there is, it's something real that you will overcome and learn from.
You should read that "From Panic to Power" book by Lucinda Bassett. Good stuff that...

A: Natural Cures for Anxiety
Diet: Assess your diet to reduce excessive consumption of stressor foods such as refined sugars, honey, maple syrup, or cow`s milk products. Consume vegetable soups, broths, and a wide variety of green and yellow vegetables. Add more complex carbohydrates such as whole grains, beans, seeds, and nuts.
Flower Essences: Flower essences can prove very helpful in managing and helping to eliminate anxiety. Use Aspen for apprehension, foreboding, and fear of unknown origin while Mimulus is for fear of known things, shyness, and timidity. Red chestnut is used for excessive anxiety and over caring for others. Rescue Remedy® (combination formula) is for general stress from anxiety, and Rock Rose is helpful for coping with terror and panic from known fear.
Herbs: Panax ginseng has a tonic effect on the adrenal glands, improving blood flow to the brain and reducing the stress associated with mental/emotional issues. Valerian root, an herbal tranquilizer and muscle relaxant, is another good agent for calming the nervous system. It helps balance mood swings and is not habit forming. Valerian-hops combination formulas are good daytime sedatives because they don`t interfere with reflex actions. Passionflower is another mild sedative that helps reduce anxiety, high blood pressure, nervous tension, and muscle tension, and encourages deep, restful sleep. St. John's wort, a highly popular remedy for depression, has proven effective for anxiety and mood swings as well.
Homeopathy: Aconite, Actaea rac., Drosera, Calc carb., and Sulfur are all useful homeopathic remedies for dealing with anxiety.
Hypnotherapy: Self-hypnosis helps to impart to the mind imagery designed to bring about deep levels of relaxation.
Meditation: Develops the mind`s ability to stop anxiety at its source.
Nutritional Supplementation: The following supplements have all been shown to help reduce feelings of anxiety by calming the nervous system: calcium, magnesium, vitamin B complex, 5-HTP, pantothenic acid, and adrenal and kidney glandulars. GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), an amino acid, can also affect mood by increasing levels of the brain neurotransmitter serotonin (a mood regulator).
