Q: Diet plan?
I already work out on a regular basis, but I really want to change how I eat. Does this sound like a good diet plan to lose weight? Breakfast: Eggs Lunch: Powerbar Dinner: Salad and Chicken and water throughout the day. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks. :)

A: You definitely need more food! Examples are: Breakfast--An egg, 1 slice of bread and a fruit (or 1 serving of 100% fruit juice) Or..1 slice of toast, peanut butter (watch the serving--some are 1 tablespoon, others are 2!), and fruit (or juice). Lunch should include a protein/dairy (cottage cheese, tuna, lean meat, string cheese, yogurt), a big salad (don't be afraid of eating too much salad because you can't!) and other veggies or another fruit. Afternoon snack can be a protein/dairy and a fruit. Supper should include 2 veggie servings (or V-8), a protein, salad or fruit. You can have an evening snack. This should be a fat. Yes, you need a serving of fat. This can be nuts, peanut butter, seeds, olives...You can even have a 100 calorie bag of popcorn or some other snack. Just try to pick something with protein to help get you through the night! Try to journal what you eat, when you eat and how many calories you're taking in. That way you can look back and make adjustments as necessary. Don't forget the water! Drink water--no soda!! Water really does help with weight loss. Good luck!â˜ș

Q: What is the best exercise/diet plan for someone who is very limited?
I have a very bad back, and I need to lose almost 200 lbs. I am trying to get a Breast reduction so weight loss before hand is a must. I am having problems getting and staying motivated, as well as trying to find that one exercise/diet/life change plan that works with and for me. Please give me a few great safe ideas.

A: water aerobics are great for people who are limited in movement. that and walking/running in water. It's great because the rate of injury would comparitively be rather low to exersizing on land. Dieting i suggest not cutting whole food groups out. Dont say 'i cant have any sugar' because this will be hard to stick to and you may lose motivation. Just keep to the basics such as lots of fruit and veg, lots of water, good sleep. Cut down on the bad foods, you know which ones they are! I think this would work better than having a set plan that is so crazily different to what you're eating now. The big change would be hard to keep to, so just keep it more casual, less of a jump for your body. For the motivation maybe have a friend do this with you. Also keeping a written diary of your feelings, statistics, whats working, what you feel you may need to change. This will help keep you motivated. What i've found useful was buying clothes too small for me and that motivates me to lose weight so i can wear them. It's a naughty habbit because it's expensive! but it felt great :) Goodluck with your weight loss and i hope you can find ways to stick to it

Q: What is a good vegetarian diet plan that would work well and fast?
I'm 14 years old around 5'5 and about 120 pounds. I'm also a vegetarian. I'm looking to loose some weight but not a lot. Just to tone and to eat healthier. I can't seem to find a vegetarian diet plan so if you could help me out with some tips or information that would be great.

A: I tend not to like strict diet plans. I found that I ate a LOT better when I went vegan (no more cheesey gooey goodness or ice cream). I would suggest going vegan for the period of your diet. Also, abstain from pre packaged vegan foods (soy ice cream, fried chik'n, etc), and focus more on whole foods. Seriously, taking the cheese and dairy out of my diet did wonders because so many fatty and tasty foods are eliminated. So, in sum, try a vegan diet full of unprocessed foods. Please understand I am not trying to push veganism on you for any moral or ethical reason. What you eat is up to you. I am simply focusing on the health aspects and my own experience. You could easily do this for the duration of your diet and then switch back to eating healthy dairy and egg products in your diet.

Q: What is a diet plan you would recommend for convenience?
I know fresh food like fruits and vegies are good for a healthy diet but I can't go to the shop at least twice a week in order to get that stuff fresh. How can I plan a diet to last a fortnight? I'm tempted to do those meal replacement diets with shakes and soups just because they're cheap and convenient.

A: Hi Adazia, I would recommend a program that generates a menu for you to buy things off the grocery store and not to worry about calories and carbs... something simple. I have tried this system (which is cheap and not some big and expensive diet stuffs) and has worked for me and my friends. Hence I have created a website to help people who, like me, likes a healthy diet program but still able to eat. Visit my webpage info at http://www.fatlossfast.org Cheers, Dr Jo Johnson

Q: What is an easy diet plan to follow when you work long hours and have a desk job?
I work long hours at a desk job on Wall Street. I get home late, leave early, and am on a strict food budget. I am looking for a very detailed diet and exercise plan to follow so that I may lose weight. I have a small apartment and my only equipment is 10 and 4 lbs hand weights. I am looking for exercises to do in a small space. I want to buy foods in bulk that I can have during the week instead of preparing five different meals. I have no medical restrictions for diet or exercise.

A: jump rope. take the stairs. walk more. eat enough protein for your body weight (beans are cheap and a good source)

Q: What is a good diet plan for my husband & I to do together?
I would like to find a diet plan (meals & exercise) that my husband & I can do together, but is easy at the same time. He will only walk or ride bikes with me. I have the Walk A Way the Pounds DVDs and he will not do them. He also expects to have a full meal on the table every night, but agress that he should not eat that much and needs to loose some weight. I am a diabetic and could really use some support in losing at least 10 lbs. We are both in our late 20's to early 30's and have a daughter who is active. She could do something with us, but I need ideas.

A: Recent studies have shown that the best diet plan for weight loss, diabetes, cancer and hypertension is a plant based diet. Using a completely vegetarian diet without chicken, fish, eggs, milk, cheese or anything else that comes from an animal, I have seen many people stop using insulin and get rid of their other medications. The patients that I work with usually eat only 2 meals each day; they skip supper because they don't need the energy from that meal while they are sleeping. Any diet will not give you the results that you want without exercise. email me for details.

Q: What is the best diet plan you have followed?
I need a diet plan to kick start a weight loss diet and exercise programme. I plan to follow a diet plan then return to healthy eating when I have lost some weight. I was wondering about slim fast but are there any better suggestions? Thanks

A: well i have to say cut done on carbohydrates(pasta'spuds rice'bread) and alcohol if you drink. My husdand was diagnoised with diabetes and his nurse advised on the above to help control his sugar level and to help control weight. So i tried it and lost a stone in weight with no extra excerise and have the above foods in moderation.Hope this is some use.

Q: What is the most efficient diet and workout plan for a 15 pound overweight man to bulk up ?
What is the best work out and diet plan to bulk up?

A: I’ll be quick, but then give sources that go more in depth. Generally you want to eat things like Carbs: Oatmeal, brown rice, 100% whole wheat, all veggies, all fruits (eat fruits after waking up and after working out) Protein: Lean meats, protein shakes (great after a workout with some fruit), egg whites Fats (in moderation): Almonds, flax seed oil, olive oil, peanut butter, egg yolks You’re going have to find your TDEE (your maintenance level of calories; see first source) and then eat MORE than that if you want to bulk up. If you are already overweight, you’re going to want to minimize fat gains while you add mass to your muscles. So I really recommend only eating about 5% more than your TDEE, and only eat healthy foods like the ones above. Remember your exercise plan effects your TDEE. You may have to adjust slightly if the results you get are slightly off. (The calorie calculator isn’t perfect; it’s a great starting point.) As for workout plans, I really recommend you include “The Big Three” which are squats, dead lifts, and the bench press. You’ll want to alternate between doing 5 sets of 5 reps for several weeks, then 3 sets of 10-12 reps for several weeks. The very last rep of every workout (if you’re doing 5 sets of 5, that’s the 25th rep) should be very hard, and you just barely manage to get it. Write down what you do, and try to beat it by a tiny amount every time. You could do 1 more rep, or add a few percent to the weight. Just track what you do, and make sure you improve. Please see my 2nd source for an excellent, well-rounded workout routine that’s “brilliant with the basics.” It’s great for beginners (and honestly, I think it’s just great period). You don’t have to do the EXACT exercise it says to do, but try to follow it closely, and don’t skimp on The Big Three!

Q: How can I find a "Free" diet plan on the web to help lower my Cholesterol and is also low sodium?
I have several health problems and need to lower my Cholesterol and Blood Pressure. I would like to know a good diet plan that will help me with this.

A: cut down on sodium and packaged foods/canned foods. Eat fresh fruits and veggies ease up on meats and cheeses Eat Oatmeal Use Olive oil instead of veggie oil Exercise daily (walking 30-60 min a day) Stop drinking soda pop, drink water instead Pretty much common sense stuff. Don't over eat, eat a lot of veggies/fruits, exercise. Some people, no matter how healthy they are and how much they exercise, genetically they are going to have higher cholesterol and may need a prescription for that. Try diet and exercise first.

Q: How much can you loose after following GM diet plan?
Going through a number of diet plans, I have found the GM diet to be a very reasonable and do-able one. But I have doubt as to how much can one loose after going through this plan. Need expert answers from people who have either followed the plan or are aware of the plan.

A: it didnt work for me but every one is different give it a try what could it hurt

Q: What healthy diet plan (not pills) have you had the most success with?
What diet plan have you had the most success with? Weight Watchers, The Biggest Loser diet, etc, plain old healthy eating in moderation, etc? What worked the best for you, and why?

A: Diets don't work they are to hard to stick to. IF you truly want to lose weight and keep it off for good there are a few things you have to do. Portion control, eat what a TRUE serving is!!!! Eat about six small meals instead of three large ones, Eat more fruits and vegetables and whole grains. Cut down on your protein we as Americans eat more than our bodies truly need any way. And exercise even if you just add 15 minutes a day walking into your day you will start to lose weight, if you do all of the other things also. You don't have to stop eating what you like, You just have to eat it in the correct portions rather than what we've gotten used to. IF you do this you will lose weight, maybe not as fast as you would like but you will lose weight and you will keep it off. The faster that you lose weight usually the faster that you gain it back again. We need to eat more like our parents did and less like the media would want us to.

Q: What is the best diet plan for loosing weight by 60 minutes of walking for 6 days in a week?
I am 33 years old. My weight is 72 kgs and my ht. is 5 feets. I would like to loose atleast 20 kgs of weight. Please suggest me a diet plan best for me. I am doing 60 minutes of walking 6 days in a week. I am suffering from little high sugar level and hypertension and taking medication for the same. Please suggest.

A: Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. To have more satisfaction out of ur food, Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will also activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals. Nothing other than water in between. Take light exercises and brisk walks for 30 min.regularly preferably twice a day. U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time and hassle free. Be patient and not in a hurry. U cannot choose spots for reduction. This schedule can be adopted on permanent basis to lead a healthy life and maintain weight.

Q: Can anyone tell me how to make vegetarian diet plan?
I would like to become a vegetarian but I don't know what a well balanced vegetarian diet would consist of. I need a menu plan, something to go by until I get the hang of this. Do anyone have any advice or know of a website I could go to find some good information?

A: The best website I found that gives menu plans is http://health.discovery.com/national-body-challenge/national-body-challenge.html . It will provide you with a balanced and nutritious plan. You have to register but it is worth it to get the recipes.

Q: What would be the best diet plan out of the following?
Medifast, Nutrisystem, Jenny Craig, or any others i didnt think of? which one taste best and works the best? I want a diet plan that will give me the food i need to eat and i will also do some walking, speed walking, jogging and running.

A: I have tried them all and the best is Weight Watchers, where you eat real food. Medifast you lose weight fast but you don't keep it off, Nutrisystem all canned food, you add the fresh vegs, and fruit. Check out Weight Watchers.

Q: NEED Help with diet plan and shopping list, I did some quizzes and the best diet so far for me is HIGH FIBER?
OK I am not interested in spending money every week and paying fees. This is the internet, there has to be some place to get a Diet plan AND shopping list for free!! My question has two parts: ONE does anyone know where to get a ABSOLOUTLY FREEEEE Diet Profile and SHOPPING LIST? And TWO: Does anyone have a Diet plan and shopping list for the HIGH FIBER DIET? I took several online tests and quizzes from places like ediets, diets, so on so on haha even celebrity fit club. But the most common answer for me since I am on the run, am a total fast food, microwave food, skip meals, only eat once or twice a day usually in the evening kinda gal WAS recommended to do the HIGH FIBER DIET. Any and all help on this would be so appreciated.

A: This menu planning site is written by a Registered Dietitian, and includes a diet wide in variety, including fiber. The site includes recipes and shopping lists. Boost fiber in the diets by choosing whole wheat products whenever possible: breads, pasta, cereals (hot adn cold), including dried beans and peas in your meals, nuts, fresh fruit, coconut, and all sorts of vegetables whenever possible. http://www.uclick.com/client/adv/mu/
