Q: diet plans?
I'm trying to set up a diet plan to help me lose weight. I plan on walking everyday to begin with. Does anyone have any plans that have worked for them?

A: Eating smart with the daily walking sounds good: The natural “diet”: Eat, drink, and be merry Eat smart – well-balanced meals, cut out any unnecessary calories (snacking just because), eat when you are hungry (grumbling stomach, hunger pains) and only eat until you are satisfied (not a bite more), 5-6 smaller meals is better than 3 larger ones. Also, stop eating 2-3 hours before bed – you should be slightly hungry at bed time Drink plenty of water, not only to stay hydrated, but its important for weight loss, including helping the muscles tone and suppressing hungry. (Tip – the lighter your urine the more hydrated you are.) Be merry – in other words exercise, not only is it needed for weight loss, it releases chemicals in your brain and makes you more happy (some of it is addicting which is known to a lot as “runner’s high”). 30 minutes of cardio is recommended daily, and a good work out program uses cardio and weight training (even if it’s just toning – light weights, more reps). Do something you enjoy and it will be easier to stick it out.

Q: What are some of the best weight loss diet plans?
Like everyone else, the new year has made me want to lose weight again lol, soooo I was just wondering what recommendations you'd all have for the best weight loss diet plans?

Q: I have Crohns Disease and would like to diet. Does anyone have any diet plans specifically for this?
I have Crohns Disease and seem to have put on about 4 stone due to having to take steriods on and off. I would like to diet but find that alot of diet plans focus mainly on fibre related products which I can't eat. Can anyone help, please?

A: Cant help, but my advice would be to see your doctor and ask for a referral to a dietician. The treatment for Crohns causes other health issues (like wiight), and these should also be addressed as part of the treatment.

Q: Any ideas on good diet plans for me?
I'm 18, 6'3", 225lbs. I'm looking for a good diet plan (not necessarily diet) to lose some fat while maintaining my weight by exercising and putting back on some muscle. I'm in generally good shape but I've been out of commission for a few months now and have put some weight on. I need a pretty strict plan that will help me achieve my goal in roughly the same time I put the weight on. Any ideas, specific plans, or general rules you can suggest would be awesome.

A: plenty of fruit and vegies. High protein gives you energy and stops you snacking. Just cut out rubbish and eat three good meals and you will be fine especially if you are exercising as well.

Q: Are there any diet websites that are completely free and offer plans?
I thought ediets was free & it tricks you at first by saying it is but then makes you fill in a credit card number. Are there any websites that are free out there and offer free diet plans?

A: well i luv www.sparkpeople.com or if ur a teen www.sparkteens.com

Q: Anyone know of any Diet & Exersize plans that actually work?
Hi. I was just wondering because I want to lose about 20 Pounds. I was just wondering if you know any good exersizes that you can do at home, and some good diet plans like what to eat for breakfast, lunch, dinner, etc? Thanks!

A: Running is the best all over fat burner. If you do not like running, have breathing problems or cannot run, you can walk at an incline. For example if you walk on a treadmill at 4 mph at 10 incline for 45 minutes, you have burned 500 calories. Eat mostly fruits, vegetables, and protiens. Try to cut back on sugar or not eat anything full of sugar such as candy, cookies, etc but natural sugars (found in fruit) are fine. Here is a meal plan that will help you lose weight fast and not be too hard to follow: BREAKFAST 1/2 grapefruit 2 egg whites slice of whole wheat toast LUNCH pear banana Fiber One bar serving size bag of Sunchips(your choice of flavor) celery with peanut butter DINNER breaded and baked fish (any kind you like) or chicken peas or any kind of vegetable brown rice SNACKS cottage cheese fruit vegetables protien shake (one scoop protien powder, nonfat milk, frozen fruit) Also make sure you drink enough water. Drink one glass on nonfat skim milk a day or have it in a shake and then drink NOTHING but water. Take your weight and divide it by 2. The convert pounds to ounces. For example, if you weighed 150 lbs then divide by 2 = 75 lbs then convert to ounces - 75 ounces of water a day. Make sure to drink that much water every day. Good luck :)

Q: does anyone have any good diet plans for vegetarians?
Im looking for some good diet plans to help me loose my baby weight, ive looked online but you have to pay for them. Im a vegetarian who eats no meat but does eat dairy products.

A: This one works for me. Cut out the dairy, don't use oil or fat when cooking, make sure you eat a big variety of things, eat only small amounts of oil rich foods (nuts, seeds, olives etc), eat lots and lots of fruit and veg and whole grains (brown rice, wholemeal pasta and bread) so you don't get hungry, and regularly do some exercise. It is important that you eat a wide variety of different things.

Q: Does anyone know of any good diet plans?
I have a family so it's hard for me to find a diet that has meal plans that I can do. I don't know the first thing about cooking healthy so meal plans, & shopping lists would be great but the only ones I've seen are for a single person not a whole family.

A: There is a site online that provides meal plans, calorie trackers, recipes with nutrtional information. There are motivating articles, & support groups. You start by entering your current weight and then your goal weight. It will tell you how many calories you need to consume in a day to loose the weight within a desired time-frame. They do not encourage you to shoot for more than 2 lbs a week. It has a 4 step process to get you started making gradual changes in your eating and lifestyle to help you acheive your goal and maintain your weight loss. It is a free program and there are not 200 million adds or pop-ups. You can set the meals you like and you can print a shopping list. I don't think the shopping list is for a whole family but if you set a meal plan and print the list you should be able to easily purchase the amount you need for your family. Oh, and it is not low-carb or low-fat or any trend it is about learning a healthy balanced diet, portion control and incorporting exercise into your life. www.sparkpeople.com

Q: When I go on diet plans, I lose muscle and not fat, yet I work out 3-4 times a week!?
I go on diet plans to lose some body fat but my muscles end up shrinking! I have a solid weightlifting plan but I have no idea why I'm my muscles are looking smaller and why my fat percent hasn't gone down.

A: You might be mixing cardio and weightlifting on the same day, which is terrible for toning up and/or gaining mass. Cardiovascular exercises are catabolic, which burns down muscle and fat for fuel. Notice how long distant runners are skinny. If you are doing cardio in the middle or after your weightlifting, it will be using your already worn down muscles for fuel, which makes your entire lifting efforts done for nothing and unable to grow. If you shall do cardio during your workouts, dedicated a day solely to cardio, or do very light cardio before your workouts with minimal effort and exertion. Personally, I would do no more than a mile at walking speed before my lifts if I must do cardio.

Q: Does anyone know of a diet site that makes meal plans and gives you a shopping list?
I am trying to find a diet plan that provides meals and gives me a list of the supplies I will need. I am talking about a free site. Not something like weight watchers or nutrisystem.

A: weight watchers

Q: Does anyone have any good suggestions for diet plans?
I currently started working out 4-5 times a week. I wouldn't say that I am a "fat" person. I just have the fat that covers the muscle that I want to get rid of. I want to get on a better diet plan but I am always so lost on what I should be eating to help in burning fat. I am not a fan of all carb, or all this or that diets etc. I just want something simple, but not something where I have to completely cut something out of my diet. Anyone have any suggestions?

A: My friend went to a dietian and this is what she told her to do: For breakfast have fruits and yogurt or healthy cereal like Special K or Shredded Wheat (try not adding sugar either) Eat a salad for two meals a day for a week. You can add things like turkey and small amounts of egg and cheese if you want but try and stay away from any acidic dressing (like vinegar). For snacks eat fruits and veggies or a snack bar; the ones she found most similar to the ones her doc gave her were South Beach Diet Bars and they were a lot cheaper than she was paying for the other ones! Stay away from caffeine, sugar (if you must have sugar use brown sugar), no sweets (if you must have sweets have dark chocolate), bleached flour (have whole wheat as a substitute; wheat pasta (small amounts) and wheat flour) and very little red meat (try only having it once or twice a week WITH your meal not AS a meal). This is straight from the dietians mouth and she lost 10lbs the first week. So it does work, promise!!

Q: Is there any websites out there which offer free diet plans?
A lot of them say they are free, and then ask for you to pay. Pathetic in my mind. Cant find a free diet plan anywhere. I want to lose weight, not too bothered about muscle.

Q: What are some good diet and workout plans to get ripped to?
I used the Hydroxycut Hardcore diet plan with this workout plan: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/wotw12.htm and they worked out good. Any suggestions on what to try next.

A: Burn more calories than you eat. Cut your fat intake. Eat three cups of fat free low cal yogurt a day (make sure it has live cultures in it) and pineapples. This helps you break down your food and promotes weight loss. You still need to eat low fat proteins. (baked and grilled fish and chicken and beans) Do 45-60 min. of aerobic exercise a day (preferably before you eat in the morning). This will attack the fat. Try to supplement your training with some running, running stairs or hills, and cycling. Mix it up, it will keep your body guessing. Do 30 min of weight training three times a week. This will build lean muscle which will in turn burn fat. Keep moving all the time. Tap you feet while at the computer, tap you hands on your legs while walking. Keep moving and keep burning calories. I lost 40 lbs in two months and have kept it off for 18 more months doing this. I did not lose any strength and gained more energy. I also took my body fat % from 30% to 10% and my waist from 36 inches to 31 inches. I can see my 4 and sometimes 6 pack.
