Q: healthy diet?
hi i was wondering if anyone had like a healthy diet plan sort of thing. i am not really unhealthy and not overweight, but my diet aint to good! (too many crips and chocolate cravings!) i also feel tired quite a lot (although im doing my gcse's so it might be that!) which i figured might mean im not healthy enough! so if youve got any usful tips or anything, thanks
thanks evry1!
A: It is all out there to be had. 5 portions of fruit and veg, 2l of water, keep refined sugars and salts to minimum and basically a little of what you fancy does you good. All things in moderation and nothing to excess is a good wee adage.
Q: What kind of a weightloss or healthy diet plan would work for you?
I'm sure you have all tried some kind of diet. If I could design the perfect wieghtloss diet or healthy diet program for you, what would I need to do? Think of what would make you enthusiastic enough to not quit, but look forward to continuing this program on a daily basis for the rest of your life.
A: A food plan that is easy to follow without any expensive things to buy.
A food plan that lets me feel satified with every meal and not still starving.
A food plan that allows me the freedom to choose what I want to eat - within reason.
A food plan that doesn't cut out one or more food groups.
A food plan that gives good results on the scales and in inches.
A food plan that doesn't make me tired and leaves me with no energy and headaches.
A food plan that lets you have a little treat every now and again without you putting 2Lbs back on.
A food plan that feels like a food plan and not a DIET.
I think that is all I could really ask for.
Hope this helps.
Bon
Q: How to fit a healthy diet in my busy day?
I want to loose some weight but I can't fit an healthy diet in my life because I'm woorking in restaurant. I know that you need to eat some smaller amount of healthy food 5 times a day, drink a lots of water dosome workout(I do 1h30 every day : weight lifting&Eleptical) and sleep as well but I do not have the time. Do you know some quick healthy meals to eat at anytime of the day even when you finish around 11pm?
A: you've summed it up, if it's that important to you nothing is impossible, you can do it, no matter of your surroundings, if you can come up with a game plan, it's achievable. do you have off days? where you can exercise? what about taking walks on your break? and what types of foods are at the place where you work?? i think you can work around it if you truly want it.
Q: How can I manage a healthy diet with a family?
Hi everyone. I have four children and have found myself putting on a lot of weight lately. I want to get fit and healthy again (and fit into some of my clothes!!). The youngest is only 1 and it is hard to go for walks or the gym with 4 kids to take care of. My husband does shift work and I am kind of stuck. I love to bake and always make things for the kids and end up eating it too. How can I work a healthier diet and somehow do some exercise with my family and kids in tow? Any suggestions? Has anyone tried exercise DVD's? I think I'd get really bored with that.
A: My sister does exercise DVDs and really likes them. I have borrowed a few of hers but I would rather play music and dance. You can put the youngest in a stroller/buggy/wagon and all go for a walk.
Put your WHOLE FAMILY on a healthy eating plan. Good eating habits need to be developed at a very young age. Children can be so active it seems that they never put on weight; but as a teacher every year I see more and more overweight children.
Did you know that the recommended amount of fruits and vegetables for children and adults is 10 serving a day? A serving is 8 bites... children's bites are smaller.
Don't give up your baking, however, bake fruit pies instead of cake made with white flour. Try using whole wheat and other whole grains in your baking.
Use none fat powdered milk for baking... it is healthier and cheaper too. Add a few nuts and also fruit to your baked goods.
There are many healthy food sites. I'll put my favorite the the source box. There are many good ones... Yahoo's food site is handy to pull up, too.
Q: What is a healthy diet and exercise regimen for life?
I am bulimic, and I can't take it anymore. I want to change. I
don't no what its like to "be healthy" because of this. What is
a good diet for healthy living? Can you give me meal plans/
ideas of healthy options for all meals. To stay healthy and
maintain a healthy weight, how much exercise is good per
week, and how long each day? How many calories should i
eat each day?
I just turned 15
Im 5ft
I weigh 105lbs.
Please help! and Thanks!
A: Here is an exercise plan as well as some info about how to eat correctly. There are also side links to sample meal plans and other good information. I have used a very similar system to maintain less than 5% body fat for the past 23 years. It is not because of my genetics because obesity runs in my family.

Q: Is a healthy diet more important when you are young or when you are old?
Are there any reliable studies on this issue? On the one hand, I can see how a healthy diet when you are young might set in motion some long term positvie health benefits. On the other hand, it may be the case that children's bodies are so efficient at squeezing the nutrition out of the foods that they eat that a child's poor diet may not have the detrimental effects that an older person's poor diet would. My 8 year old son's diet is very limited, yet surprisingly, at least to me, he acts and looks very physically healthy.
A: Both - it's important at every stage of your life. When you're young and your body is still growing, it's very important to have all the right nutrients for building bones, teeth, muscles, organs, etc., as well as providing energy. It's true also that reinforcing healthy food choices for a child will set a pattern which he will probably follow throughout his life, and this is further protection for his health.
Recent studies are showing more and more how important good nutrition is as we're aging, though. Some conditions thought to be unavoidable or irreversible as a result of aging have responded well to a healthy diet. Conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes have shown greatly reduced symptoms in studies of adults with these health problems after they were put on diets with specific foods in them. We know now, too, that a number of fruits & vegetables have strong anti-oxidant properties, preventing a number of cancers and slowing or stopping the spread of cancer in people who have the disease.
A healthy diet strengthens our immune systems and cleanses toxins from our bodies, helping us fight off disease and helping our whole bodies function better. This is true from infancy to old age. I had heard from a pediatrician that if a child goes through a period of being picky or eating very few foods, it's not cause for concern. I've watched my 6 and 8 year-old sons go through phases of not eating certain foods, and I've seen them slowly come around to eating those foods they used to refuse. The best thing to do is to keep offering your son a healthy variety, and show by your example to do the same; these will have an influence on what he eats.
As far as sources for studies on diet and health, I've seen numerous articles in the last few years in medical, health, and nutrition magazines reporting studies about nutrients in foods and their individual properties. You could go to the library and go back through a year of issues from a particular publication and easily find several articles on the subject. A good one with reliable sources and reports on these studies is Prevention magazine; I read this one myself.
Q: How to have a healthy diet for overweight kids?
My friend and I would like to stay and start a diet! We would both really appreaciate if you would also include recipes that are healthy! We also would like some tips and advices! Also please do not leave nasty comments we also would not like having posts saying starve yourselfs because we are smart and know not to do that so you would be wasting your time! Thanks if you looked at this question and left a post without saying nasty things!! :)
A: thank you for being smart about it! instead of listing a bunch of information here i thin kyou would be better off purchasing the book: "the eat clean diet" by tosca reno. its not a diet at all don't worry. she teaches you how to eat healthy without feeling like you are depriving your body of food. she also talks about exercise and includes easy recipes inside her book. she also has a cook book out too. goodluck! :)
Q: How do you put a cat on a healthy diet; to help them lose wieght?
My cat isn't all that fat, but she's getting there. She's to scared to go outside, so she doesn't get much exercise. Any suggestions for a healthy diet?
A: Get her on Overweight Management (OM) cat food by Purina, and only feed her a set amount per day. You need to feed your cat in "meals" to control their weight and eating. Maybe once in the morning give her, say, 35 grams of OM cat food, and maybe 45 grams at night.
Q: What is a healthy diet for a me if I play basketball?
I'm 13 years old and am trying out for my middle school basketball team. What should I eat as a healthy diet if tryouts are in two months? I'm almost 5' 5" and weigh 107 lbs.
A: eat your veggies that's what Paul Pierce eats everyday heal from injuries.
Q: What is a healthy diet, if you don't cook and only eat out?
I never cook, and always eat out at someplace or other. I have enough money to spend to eat out almost anywhere every day, so thats not an issue.
Just wanted to know what would be a good diet in these terms? Some places include Subway, Mexican Food, Chinese Food, Pizza / Pasta, Wawa, Thai Food, Japanese Food, Italian. What would be the most healthy combination of foods to eat?
A: anything with plenty of fiber and protein and only good fats.
egs:
salad
soup
sandwich w/whole GRAIN bread- wheat is just white died brown
cut out mexican- weight gain is to be expected there
chinese- too much MSG- if u must, steamed veggies w/any type of fish or chicken and BROWN rice
japanse is good- avoid too much rice and ask for low sodium soy sauce
italian- almost all carbs, u will gain weight there too, although it is better than mexican (of course u can ask for no pasta and extra veggies- i recommend this everywhere u go- veggies should take up HALF your plate)
good luck hun!
Q: What proportion of fat, carbohydrate and protein is needed for a healthy diet?
I worked out that my diet is about 57% carbs, 15% fat, 28% protein. Is that a healthy balance? What exactly do the carbs, fat and protein do?
A: I would suggest you to read this article about eating
www best-fat-burn-strategies com/eating.htm
Q: How many portions of food and drink do you have to have to maintain a healthy diet?
Hi I've been wanting to diet for a long time but I'm not really sure how many portions of each catagory of food I should have a day.I need help. Because I am not that healthy I need the circle of good health in other words I need how many fruit, fat, vegtables ect. A day so could anyone help me lose my extra fat?
A: I go by my own rules. But I eat well.
I try and eat some nuts, an apple and a banana everyday. In the summer, I eat an orange too.
I eat about 5-6 little meals a day, I graze like a cow.
I find this great because 1. I never over eat, 2. when I do eat "bad" foods, I can't eat as much, because my body is used to smaller amounts and 3. I like to eat and it feels like I eat lots.
It can be hard because your body expects to get fed every 2 hours, so you need to learn to carry around some fruit, granola bars etc.
But the best thing is to add some cardio, some walking, anything to get your heart pumping too.
I just found out that you can do little things, like do as many pushup as you can 4-5 times a day, same with sit ups...it sounds so easy and quick.
good luck
Q: Where can i find a healthy diet plan?
My brothers wedding is in 3 weeks and i want to look good in my dress, but lately i have been gaining a lot of weight. i need a healthy diet (or not even a diet) plan. i want to lose a few pounds for the dress, but not to go extreme.
A: The USDA has a web site:
http://www.mypyramid.gov/
It tells you how to eat healthy and even gives some sample menus.
Q: Will exercising more and changing to a healthy diet improve my circulation?
I'm 16 and am aiming to improve my circulation in my body is exercising and a healthy diet, consisting of fruit, vegetables and other healthy stuff a way to do this?
A: To improve your circulation aerobic excessive and physical activity is an excellent way to get that blood flowing. Another great way to improve circulation is spending some time in a Sauna. The heat from a Sauna surrounds the body and penetrates deeply into the joints, muscles and tissues, speeding oxygen flow and increasing circulation. Also, try visiting a massage therapist from time to time to get those muscles relaxed and promote better circulation.
Q: What's a simple, healthy diet i can follow?
I'd like some information about a simple and healthy diet for a young teenager. Plus; how much exercise is appropiate for me? Please help.
A: The simplest healthy diet is to eat fresh vegetables and some fruit every day, and to eat lean meats, fish, poultry, and eggs prepared simply (i.e. baked, grilled, broiled). Add seasonings to improve the flavors if needed. Avoid sugars and processed foods. Avoid canned beverages and even most fruit juices (unless you use a juicer for fresh fruit). Avoid fried foods.
There are many forms of exercise: cardiovascular (like jogging or running), stretching, resistance training, etc. For a young teen considering weight or resistance training - the best thing to do is to get with a good coach that specializes in programs for teens. Learn how to exercise properly (i.e. technique) and the risk of injury decreases.
The hardest part of eating well (especially as a teen) is avoiding being influenced by others who make poor choices. I wish you great success on this journey!
