Q: Celebrities weight loss diets slim fit into latest fashion clothings?
When it comes to trends, we all look to Hollywood celebrities. Whether it's a fashion trend or diet trend, we all want to find out their secrets for fitness and weight loss methods that these celebrities are using. Any of you know anything about it?
A: The only way to lose weight properly is to eat healthy watch portions and excerise
Q: What are some other weight loss diets?
What is another weight loss diet (eg. Atkins diet) but that is completely different to the Atkins diet. I gotta compare the atkins diet and another diet for a project so i need another diet that has a different nature.
A: Slimfast.
Weight Watchers.
South beach diet.
Cabbage soup diet.
Raw food diet.
Q: What are some truly effective weight loss diets?
Please don't spare the details and tell me how it worked for you.
A: Don't try any pills, they don't work, it's a money-making business. Honestly the best way to look at it is, "What did I or didn't I do that made me gain this weight?" and then do the opposite. Which in most cases is changing your eating habits and exercising. "Diets" don't work, you have to change your eating habits. Trust me. Did "diets" for 8 yrs. I've been eating better, cutting down on carbs, especially sweets since sugar slows down the metabolism, and doing cardio exercises. I've lost a healthy 20 pounds in the last 2 months. Sorry, alcohol would have to be cut down if not eliminated, empty calories.
My mom has been doing what is known as the Sacred Heart Soup Diet on and off for the past year and a half. She was just over 400 pds. She has lost just over 100 pds, but she has also changed what she eats and she goes to a gym 3 - 4 times a week.
There is also fasting, but should not be taken lightly. It gives your metabolism that break to fix itself and kick-start again when you do start to eat solids again. It has many other benefits too, like cleaning your body of toxins (which also affect your metabolism), a "healing" of your body and the organs...etc.
Q: What do you know about detox diets and weight loss?
I'm interested in begining a detox diet that will greatly aide me in weight loss as well. Tips, suggestions and recipes are all very welcome! Thanks for your help! My goal here is to kick start me to help keep me motivated to loose the 90 pounds I'm aiming for.
A: It is a good idea to cleanse your body of some of the dodgy stuff. The best detox is fruit i think becasue it is essential that during the detox you still get the needed nutrients for your body. I also assume that eating fruit would give you much less calories than your used to so this would help in losing some weight.
the thing to remember bout weight loss is that is can not be done too fast. Starving your body of fuel will cause it to store food as fat, somewhat a survival mechanism. keeping your metabolism going with fruit will be a good start.
Once the detox is over start a all natural eating plan. only vegies fruit and meat that has not been processed, no packages. this will make so much difference to how you feel due to less preservatives, added sugar etc. it will also keep you on track for the goal you have.
good luck
Q: Any tried and tested weight loss diets or tips?
I never managed to get rid of the extra couple of stones I put on after the birth of my son - he's two and half now - and I'm getting desperate!!!
I'm a size 16 and I'd love to get down to my pre-baby size 10 ASAP!
Don't care how crazy, just help me!
A: go wheat free. No pasta, pizza, bread and so on. And no food after 7
p.m. People achieve marvellous results with it. Depending on your
initial weight, you can drop upwards from 20 pounds a month. If you don't eat wheat then you don't eat all those sticky, fatty goey cakes, you don't eat junk food, and you don't eat biscuits. But your diet is
still balanced. It costs nothing, and you do not have to calculate points or to buy special meals or plans.
Q: What are the best weight loss diets?
I need to lose weight fast...and am having a tough time chosing a good diet plan.
A: There is no such thing as a good plan. To lose weight you need to cut your calories, eat smaller portions, eat 3 healthy meals a day with a healthy snack between each meal, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies, limit your snacks and burn up more calories than you take in.
Q: What is Lap Band? Is it a good solution when weight loss/diets have failed???
I am 22 with High blood pressure and borderline diebetes. My family history of obesity is terrible. My mom was 35 when she had her first heart attack. Her father died at 49 from obesity and heart disease. I want to know the pros and cons of it. I have been approved from my doctor and I am so confused of what to do.
My BMI is somewhere between 45 and 47(depends on which doctors scale I go off of).
A: My mom had this surgery performed about a year ago. It's prety much a gastric bypass without the stapling - your stomach gets opened in a few (3?) spots, small holes, they put a big rubberband around the stomach, and can adjust it as needed. The band constricts the stomach to a smaller size, meaning you get full faster. It is almost always reversible.
The side effects my mother had were nothing major, some minor upset stomach, couldn't keep food down the first couple of weeks. But combined with exercise, it has helped her immensely.
If your doctor gave you the okay, I'd say go for it. And check out this link:

Q: How can I lose my excess fat? Any diets or weight loss methods?
I am a tall female 6'0". I have been on the birth control depo shot for 2 almost 3 years now. Last summer around this time I was very skinny. I weighed 140 pounds, I have gained about 20 to 25 pounds in the past year. Never in my life have I thought that I was over weight, now at this time in my life I think that I am. I know for my height I will weigh more than most. I have been through a lot of stress with work, home and my personal life. My hair is also stressed...(loosing some hair). I am looking for some kind of diet method to help me lose my excess fat. I would love to weigh 140 pounds again. Have there been any diets/pills to help you lose weight? I am a very busy person, I don't have the extra time to go to the gym or go work out. When I get the time I try to go to the gym or go on walks/runs. I am looking for a diet that will help me not eat so much, eat smaller portions, and not be so hungry? Please Help!!!
A: I was able to easily and safely lose 33 pounds using Isagenix. Not only that, but the maintenance program has helped me keep it off and have much more energy than I had before. I LOVE this stuff!! The cleansing part of it helps eliminate cravings. Also, my hair and skin are healthier. I get positive comments all the time from my friends.
Q: Weight loss diet for physically inactive guys?
What is the best weight loss diet for physically inactive guys? I am too busy, shy and lazy to go to gyms and I'd rather eat right or less to loose some weight. Do you know any good diets to loose the weight.
A: Just eat healthy in all food groups. Eat 3 meals a day. Have enough portion for each meal so you won't get hungry between meals. That's the key. You won't have to completely cut down on snacks either. Just don't stuff yourself with those stuffs. Walking helps big time. If you do this right, you will start seeing some result after 3 months because that's how long it would take to speed up your metabolism. During the first 3 months, you will gain a bit of weight since you will gain muscle weight by walking and possibly other cardio you might do.

Q: are all Commercial weight loss diets similarly effective?!?
Commercial weight loss diets are all similarly effective at 6 months, and those with support are more effective at 12 months, according to the results of the randomized BBC "diet trials" reported in the June 3 issue of the BMJ. Participants in these trials were filmed as part of a BBC television series.
"Most adults in the United States diet at some time, and trends in the United Kingdom are similar," write Helen Truby, MD, from the University of Surrey, Guildford, United Kingdom, and colleagues. "Long term success rates are poor, with 50% of weight loss being regained within one year. Although commercial diets provide consumers with a plethora of choice, data on their comparative efficacy are limited."
Using a community-based sample of otherwise healthy overweight and obese adults, this 6-month, multicenter, unblended controlled trial compared 4 popular commercial weight loss programs with a control group. These diets were the Slim-Fast plan (a meal replacement approach), Weight Watchers pure points program (an energy-controlled diet with weekly group meetings), Dr Atkins' new diet revolution (a self-monitored low carbohydrate eating plan), and Rosemary Conley's eat-yourself-slim diet and fitness plan (a low-fat diet and a weekly group exercise class). Primary endpoints were changes in weight and body fat during 6 months.
Compared with the control group, all diets were associated with a significant loss of body fat and weight during 6 months, but outcomes in the 4 diet groups did not differ significantly from each other. Intent-to-treat analysis revealed that average weight loss was 5.9 kg, and average fat loss was 4.4 kg during 6 months. Although the Atkins diet resulted in significantly higher weight loss during the first 4 weeks, it was no more or less effective than the other diets by the end of the study.
At 12 months, 158 participants (54% of the original sample) returned data, and only 58 (45%) were still compliant with their assigned diets (9 to Atkins, 20 to Weight Watchers, 9 to Slim-Fast, 20 to Rosemary Conley). More participants in the unsupported programs (Atkins diet and Slim-Fast) withdrew than in the supported programs (P = .04), and weight rebound after the initial 6 months was higher in the unsupported programs. All diets resulted in a clinically useful weight loss of around 10% after 12 months in participants who had kept to their original diet.
"Clinically useful weight loss and fat loss can be achieved in adults who are motivated to follow commercial diets for a substantial period," the authors write. "Given the limited resources for weight management in the NHS [National Health System], healthcare practitioners should discuss with their patients programmes known to be effective."
Study limitations include varied compliance with each diet, small number of participants, and effect of media interest on motivation to meet goal weights and patients' expectations of weight loss.
One of the authors has disclosed receiving consulting fees for serving on the scientific advisory panel of Slimming World.
In an accompanying editorial, David Arterburn, MD, MPH, from the Group Health Center for Health Studies in Seattle, Wash, notes the high costs of some commercial diets and the low rate of ongoing compliance with the assigned diets at 1 year.
"The challenge to researchers in obesity is to take weight loss studies, especially those involving commercial programmes and private funding, to the next level," Dr Arterburn writes. "'Diet Trials II' would serve us best by evaluating long term health outcomes, cost effectiveness, and novel strategies of improving adherence and weight maintenance. Such strategies might include economic incentives for participants and researchers collaborating with employers and healthcare providers."
A: the bottom line is
how effective a "diet" is is measured on how sustainable it is. In other words, how realistic long term compliance will be. Because if you cant sustain it (i.e. its a fad) then you go back to your old ways and guess what, you gain again, and usually more fat through muscle loss.
A cabbage soup diet is going to be nowhere near as sustainable as a rounded low fat diet. Which one do you think is going to give better LONG TERM results?
