A: I am also a recovering addict and yes taking Ephedra can lead to abuse. Also, I believe Ephedra has been banned from the market due to the health risks involved. It can lead to stroke and arrythmias. Bad stuff, dont risk it.

I have used Trimlife in the past with great results, but it doesn't have ephedra anymore. Q: Are the products with Ephedra that are on the market the same as they used to be?
I used to take products like Stackers, Metbolife 356 and Mini Thins before they banned Ephedra. I've tried the alternatives but they make me feel sick. Shakey like I need to eat, not a jittery drank too much coffee feeling. So I can't take them. I'm guessing I'm sensitive to the alternative or allergic. What ingredient/herb did they use as alternative to ephedra?
I heard that they lifted the ban on Ephedra, although the mg allowed has been lowered. But are the products out there like it used to be?
A: have you tried herbalife? they used to contain ephedra but have removed it from their products. Their products are all natural and should actually improve you digestive system without making you ill or have you running to the bathroom. I use their products every day and they are awesome. I used ephedra for over 20 years and never had any problems, My family are all very over weight and diebetic. I was able to control my weight and at 48 appear to be twenty. Doctors say nothings wrong and heart is great. But now I've gained over 80 pounds. Any suggestion?
A: I've never used ephedra. Not that I'm knocking it, but I drink plenty of water as well as natural green tea with no dilutions or added sugars, etc. I also take Hoodia Gordonii 500, it's like just over $13 bucks at Wal-Mart for 60 pills and it works (atleast for me). I also do warmups and I alternate walking/jogging. I started out 10 min warm ups and then 20 mins walks. Then I increased to 15 min warm ups and 30 mins of walking. Eventually increase your excercise week by week, rather than day by day and drink plenty of water. I'm actually not a big fanatic of water, so I use lemon or lime for flavoring (w/o sugar). I hope this helps some.
Q: What are the dangers of using Stacker 2 Ephedra Free in general? What if someone has thyroid antibodies?
A friend of mine is planning to try this, and because it's Ephedra free she thinks it's safe? What do some of you think? Also, she does not have hypothyroidism, but does have thyroid antibodies and occasional fluctuations with her TSH results(but nothing major), so she may eventually develop it. The label on this product says if you have thyroid disease not to use it. Wouldn't this also apply to her, or could it make things worse? A: yes, it applies..if she has high antibodies it is hashimotos which is a form of hypothyroidism. When you say nothing major in her tsh results what does that mean? a lot of people suffer from subclinical hypo even with so-called normal tsh's and must be treated to feel well. Her best bet is to get her tsh, free t3, free t4 and antibodies ck'd again and see where she is at in the ranges....but also stay away from any thing like this....

A: Little known fact, the ephedra ban was overturned in the US. you can go to netnutri.com and buy Stacker2 with ephedra in it. The site also has an explanation of the law being overturned. None of the major companies will produce it because it will lead to lawsuits.

A: currently there are not any studies like the one you are after. it would be a good study for somebody who is doing a PhD, although often healthy subjects are hard to come by in order to conduct the trial with.
