Q: What is the best ephedra diet pill?

Q: Why is it legal for Ephedra to be sold as a decongestant but be banned from being in diet pills?
I used to use Xenadrine and Hydroxycut with Ephedra when I was training and needed to lose a few pounds. Then it was banned from being used in these and other diet products. When they took the ephedra out of the products I use I noticed right away. Now they don't work at all. The funny thing is when I went to look around on the net I noticed that diet sites are selling Ephedra..but in brackets they put (as a decongestant). I thought the ephedra worked great as long as you didn't take too many. I think people should have the choice to buy supplements with and without the Ephedra. What do you think?

A: Because it hasn't been tested and approved for use as a weightloss drug. It has been tested as a decongestant and used as such, it does not have any dangerous side affects. This type of usage comes with many assumptions: limited use, short duration usage, low dosage. In order to be effective as a weightloss product, usage would have to be longer term and higher dosage. This may or may not be dangerous depending on the individual. Since the company has not proved it safe for this usage, it cannot be advertised as such. The FDC enforces this by placing strong restrictions on drug manufacturers and by making it illegal for individuals to use any drug for a purpose other than as indicated.

A: The last poster is WRONG! The ephedra ban was over turned some time ago, however the law is still undecided. On April 13, 2005 Judge Tina Campbell of the United States District Court of Utah threw out the part of the sweeping FDA ban of the herb ephedra that prohibited sale of products yielding less than 10 mg of ephedrine alkaloids (ephedra) per day.

I am doing a research paper for school about diet pills on the market today. Specifically ones with ephedra vs. non ephedra. I know that ephedra was banned, but I heard a while back that some have sneaked back onto shelves. Does anyone know which products these are?

A: Any product claiming to have ephedra in it is a scam. These pills have been "reformulated"..with the good old standby... caffeine and crushed cactus leaves.

A: I received wellbutrin xl from my phsyciatrist two weeks ago.. When I asked if there was anything I can not take while on it, such as nyquil or asprin. Ephedra was the only thing she said not to have. She said definitely stay away from that.

What types of diet supplements are legal in the European Union that aren't legal in the United States? I know there are different types of Hoodia, some of which are not sold in the USA. Ephedra-containing diet products were banned in the US, but are they still legal in Europe?

A: well not really, they unillegalized it here in the usa not to long ago since many pill didnt have much effect without the ephedra. I still find pill containing ephedra but they are very powerfull and i dont recommend for the long run. Many pills nowadays dont really say it contains ephedra. So on that it will be hard to find some that it does say.

Q: Are Ephedra-based diet pills still safe to buy online?
I need to lose weight and working out and dieting SUCKS...When I diet...I end up binging on everything that I shouldnt have. A: ever thought there might be a reason why this was banned in the us? there have been many complications and even deaths due to the consumption of ephedra - so no - it's definitely not safe, at least not medically. if you're concerned about the legal aspect of this i'd assume that it's illegal to sell it, not to buy it, but i'm not a u.s. citizen, so you probably shouldn't rely on me with that one ;-) and i know you don't wanna hear this, but i'm gonna to, anyway: there just isn't a permanent way to loose weight other than eating right and exercising for the rest of your life. anything else is risky and a temporary fix. the sooner you accept this, the sooner you can actually work on a permanent solution! good luck

i am thinking about taking the ephedra diet pills and i would be eating fruit and veggies and excersising at the gym for 2 hours every day for 2 months.....will i be able to lose about 35 lbs in 2 months? and will these pills help?

A: Yes, they are actually the only form of thermogenic diet pill that work. I used to take them, before it was banned, and I must warn you it will make you jittery. At first the energy I got from them was amazing. I'd have tons of energy while in the gym and always felt like I could lift anything. HOWEVER, I stopped taking them because I was getting strong heart beats, it felt like my heart was going to pop out of my chest. It was pretty scary, but they did work as far as burning fat. From my experience I wouldn't recommend taking them. It's not worth putting your heart through that stress. Hope this helps.

A: I know my buddy just goes online and usually finds a company willing to sell it but good luck very few anymore. But if you've plateaued there are many ways to get out of it. Try Super setting your exercise, take only 90 second breaks at the most and keep your heart rate up its basically doing the same thing as the pills just safer naturally and alittle less effective but trust me from experience if you do it right you'll feel and see it and most diet pills just have alot of caffine so have a coffee or a tea before your workout email me if you would like some ideas I'd be glad to help

A: I am not sure you can get it anywhere anymore in a diet supplement. New regulations went into effect on Sept. 30, 2006. I am having a very difficult time finding it anywhere and if I do, it's not natural ephedra, I have resorted to ephedrine which is found in asthma and cold medicines and those are even being strictly logged. You have to show ID, give your signature, and your purchases are limited to so many grams per month. The price also has almost tripled. Good luck.
