A: It works. My friend used it and lost 32 lbs in 2 months. I am getting some this weekend. She used the ones with Ephedra and it did make her have a lot of energy and it made it hard for her to sleep. Just and FYI but yes, it did work.

A: I've previously taken Ephedra and would NEVER do it again. Ephedra made my heart palpitate and race. I was dizzy and woozy all of the time. I wasn't able to sleep. My menstrual period became messed up due to the ephedra (the blood flow was completely blackened). I went into the GYN's office and the Doctor flipped. I was taken off of ephedra immediately. After going off of the drug, one month later, everything was back to normal with my body. Normal menstrual period (and color), no more heart palpitations, no dizziness, etc.
I certainly would NEVER recommend ephedra to anyone.
As for the other drug that you mentioned (Lipodrene), I can't speak on this as I've never tried it. A word of caution though, as it is probably just like ephedra, so please be careful.

Q: has lipodrene w/ephedra made you sick?
I just tried lipodrene w/ephedra on tuesday(4 days ago). The bottle says to take 1-2 tablets after breakfast, and 1 after lunch. I only took 3/4 of one after breakfast, and my mouth and throat got so dry i was gagging. I had to constantly drink water to feel okay. Later that night, i broke out in a fever, chills, body aches, sore throat, headache, a real heavy feeling in my chest, and a double earache. It was miserable. All of that went away the next morning, but then i got the fever back a day later with a really bad cough. That fever went away, but it feels like the cough is here to stay. I just hope it didn't do any permanent damage.
Has this happened to anyone else before?? Please share your experiences. thanks!
A: i doubt the fever and cough are due to ephedra sounds more like a cold or flu, this is flu season...bottom line is that ephedra isnt good for you, it is a diuretic and dries you out...also it raises blood pressure and heart rate..people have died from taking ephedra
Q: What are the differences between Lipodrene and Lipodrene-SR?
I know that Lipodrene contains ephedra and the SR version doesn't; and that's all I know. As far as effectiveness, which dietary supplement is better? Thanks.
A: SR usually means sustained release. Meaning it doesn't all go in your system right away, it releases the drug slowly over a period of hours. Usually people prefer this version of any drug. Not such a shock to the system and works all day/night.

A: Diet pills are so bad for you. Ephedra has put healthy young women in the hospital and a few in their graves. Cleanse and nourish your body and you will not feel hunger. I did and I must say the first cleanse was a bit of a challenge but I think it was mental. Because now I cleanse and feel great and am never hungry. Q: If ephedra or ephedrine is banned then why are people still selling Lipodrene with 25mg extract ephedra in it?
A: They can get around it because it is a natural occuring substance. It is not the chemically pure (and altered) ephedrine that is used in medicines. So by using the naturally occuring substance in some plants, they are bound by the FDA law to remove it from the shelves, they only have to put warnings about side effects, and possible interactions with prescriptions. The FDA does NOT regulate any dietary supplement. There are no real guidelines (?) for those companies as far as purity, amount that can be in one dose, etc. For instance, I know of a lady that died using the Laci Lebeau diet tea; their defense was that she used them inappropriately. It was shown that she used them according to directions and they dehydrated her so much that she died. This is still on the market. ( this may be a rumor, but it scares me nonetheless.. most rumors are based in some truth)

I already know that products containing ephedra can be very harmful and even cause death. I used in the past before the ban to lose weight/gain energy and I would only use in moderation for a short period of time. I would like honest answers about these "low dosage" ephedra products if they do in fact contain ephedra are they legal?
A: The ban on ephedra was lifted in Oct. 2005 only to be reimposed again recently.Retailers are still alowed to sell the stock they have on hand,but any new products will not contain ephedra as it's use is illegal once again.Ephedra contains ephedrine 1 therefore has been banned.Any ephedra product that is standardized will tel you how much ephedrine alkaloyds are present per dose.
When the ban was lifted in 2005 the maximum dosage of ephedrine in these products was dropped to 10 mg per dose.It may still be possible to get what's still on the shelves,but beyong that supplement and even drug companies cannot add ephedrine to their products.Even many companies have removed pseudo ephedrine from their ingrdients.Sudafed is just one.Their name is short for pseudo ephedrine.That's how much pressure abounds on these drugs.Reasons are too many abuse related deaths and the production of meth amphetamine.

EDIT!!!!Aleve Cold and Sinus contains pseudoephedrine not ephedrine.Pseudo means fake or false.Pseudoephedrine is a chemical copy cat and is also under scrutiny.Many companies have removed it.It does not have the same effect!!!

A: different ingredients. Lipodrene probably has similar ingredients with similar compounds in it.

I have been taking Lipodrene for a week or so. It has 25mg of ephedra extract (from leaves, not root). After I take it, I get gitters and a rapid heart rate. I was just wondeing if also, it was the ephedra that makes my eyes red and blurrrrrrred vision? Does anyone know???? Is it the ephedra. I am only taking 25 mg a day.
A: Yes, one of its possible side effects is glaucoma. But it does cause blurry vision, floaters, spots and sleeplessness. I quit taking it from all the side effects. If you open up the label it tells it all inside of it.
Q: I take lipodrene which contains 25 mg of ephedra extract. Will I fail a hair drug test?
I had to take a hair test for a job today. I don't take lipodrene everyday or even every week, however I know that I have taken it several times within the past 3 months. Approximately a month ago I had a haircut and chopped 2 1/2 inches off:) Will I fail this test? Furthermore, If I come up positive for usage of amphetamines, is it common for a employer to look into the test, due to amount per say, he may understand that I am not a meth user!!?? Are employers looking at traces of the drug or are they looking for a black and white answer...she's positive or she's negative?
