Q: Eucalyptus Oil?
I recently started doing my own henna and a vile of Eucalyptus oil came with the original kit. I'm out of the oil does anyone know where I can buy some for a reasonable price without buying another kit?

A: http://www.femhealth.com/eucalyptusoil.html I get mine there . Good luck.

Q: When you apply Peppermint oil or Eucalyptus oil to your scalp, do you feel a tingly sensation?
This could be with just peppermint oil and/or with eucalyptus oil. I heard that a tingly sensation on your scalp stimulates hair growth. And how would i apply the oil to my scalp. Would i have to dilute it with water. Please give me all the info you can. And thanks in advance!!!

A: A tingly sensation on your scalp will not stimulate hair growth, but if you are still insistant on trying it: Using a teaspoon of straight peppermint oil (eucalyptus would be a more subtle tingle) dilute with a cup of olive oil and apply. Do not apply it straight to your head. It would hurt quite a lot. You couldn't use water for dilution because oil doesn't mix with water, and therefore couldn't possibly dilute it.

Q: Can I put eucalyptus oil in Vicks Vaporizer?
Can I put oils used for saunas in my vaporizer without damaging it? I've felt great after being in a sauna with eucalyptus oil. I'm wondering if this would have a similar effect?

A: I used eucalyptus oil mixed with water in mine. It works really well. You can also use an essential oil diffuser. I like the kind with the tea lite candle on bottom with the essential oil bowl on top. Another nice way to use your eucalyptus is to mix it in a small spray bottle with a little lavendar and water and spray it on your sheets and pillows before bed. I love those oils!

Q: effectiveness of eucalyptus oil in infant cough?
i heard that putting eucalyptus oil on an infant with cough on a pillow case helps prevent coughing at night...is it really that effective? coz i'm planning of trying it to my 5 month old baby tonight.

A: i hope it worked, but i would never try it on a child. My mother believed in Vick's Vapo-rub ( sp?) and eucalyptus oil was a main ingredient. Decades later, i still cough when i smell it - i think all the stuff as an infant caused me to develop an allergy.

Q: i was told that eucalyptus oil would lift the stain from leather but now it's turned blue?
i tried some eucalyptus oil on my white leather bag but now the bag is blue?? what do i do?

A: You really do need to consult an expert now. Whoever told you to use eucalyptyus oil did not know what they were talking about and may have permanently damaged your leather bag. It will need an expert to restore it for you

Q: Can you use a combination of neem oil and eucalyptus oil to cure scabies?
If this is possible, can you explain what to do?\ if not, then can you give me a list of over the counter creams that will work and are effective? If youve ever had scabies, can you tell me how you got rid of them?

A: Scabies is highly contagious and re-infestation is one of the major problems. To answer your first question, neem and eucalyptus oil are being used very successfully...but only if you are treating (cleaning and disinfecting) your environment at the same time. Neem is a fairly strong oil so using a carrier oil will help "calm" the scent and some other EO's (essential oils) you can use are lemongrass, cedarwood, lavender, cinnamon. The second question about OTC scabies products that work....don't waste your time and money on head lice products...scabies is not the same. The doctor's prescription of permethrin creams (5%) are poisons and insecticides....most often the side effects are the same as having scabies....rash and itch, and some people even have worse side effects...possible seizures, liver damage, etc. The biggest thing you can do is treat your bedding (plastic mattress cover) cover your fabric furniture with sheets of plastic and your fabric car seat with plastic or trash bags. You'll "smother" them, the scabies mites have to have a human host in 3 days to survive. Wash sheets, clothing, etc everyday in HOT water and dry on HIGH heat. Heat at 130-140 degrees will kill scabies mites. You'll want to make sure the neem mix is applied at least twice daily. Neem is a natural contraceptive and will not allow the scabies mites to reproduce..rapidly cutting down their life cycles.

Q: Where do I find eucalyptus oil?
I've heard many things about eucalyptus being good for sinus problems. I'd really like to try it out becuase I seem to always have sinus problems. The closest health-food store is about 1/2 hour-45minutes away. Can I get this stuff at a regular store? After I buy it, what exactly do I do with it? How do I use it?

A: You can probably order it on line or call your local health food store and pay for it with your credit card and they will mail to you. Sinus - boil some hot water - put in a few drops and inhale. Put on side of temples for headaches Also, peppermint oil works great too.

Q: I've spilt a heap of eucalyptus oil on my carpet accidentally will it stain?
if so how do I get rid of it before it does?

A: Whenever I get oil on anything, I put baby powder on it which soaks up the oil. Leave it there for about a day then vacuum it up.

Q: Where do you put the eucalyptus oil in the humidifier?
This may sound silly but I am just not sure where to put it! Do I put the drops right in the water? My 7 month is really congested and has a bad cough. We are going to the doctor tomorrow but I just want to ease him a little bit through the night.

A: yeah u can put them in the water or most humidifiers should have like a little half circle looking thing right in front of where the steam comes out put it in there too. but putting it in the water does the same thing you'll still get the same smell coming out

Q: Where to get EUCALYPTUS OIL?
Does wal-mart or rite-aid or any department stores that sell EUCALYPTUS OIL.

A: You can find true essential oils for sale at some local massage parlors, most health food stores, and on-line at eBay and Amazon. You can also Google it and find many other sources. If your in a hurry to locate, try your local health food store.

Q: How to remove the smell of eucalyptus(oil/scent)?
I dropped a bottle of eucaluptus and I did a lot of cleaning. But the smell remains. need help.

A: Get out the box of Arm & Hammer baking soda, then pour it over the oil stain area. Leave it there for about 2-3 hours, then vacuum up. If the scent still lingers, repeat one or two more times.

Q: Is it safe for babies under the age of 2 to use eucalyptus oil?
Yep thats the question. As my daughter is sick at the moment and has missed a couple of sleeps. She is around a year an a half old. If not, what else would you reccommend? Thank you.

A: There's Euky Bear Rub with eucalyptus in it - it's very effective. There's also Vick's Baby Balsam which is good but I tend to trust Euky as it's been around forever. These are both for young un's and will set you back about $10 each. (I wouldn't put eucalyptus directly onto the skin of such a young bub)

Q: Homemade Eucalyptus oil dust mite spray?
I prefer to use natural alternatives when cleaning my home. I know that 25 drops added to the washing machine will kill dust mites. Is there a recipe for a spray that you can put directly on bed linens, mattresses, pillows etc? Thanks!

A: Try ten to fifteen drops in a half gallon of water, and fill a spray bottle with it as needed. You might also think about adding a few drops of lavender and citrus/orange oil, since lavender and orange oils are natural insect repellents (not to mention that they just smell good, too).

Q: anyone heard of eucalyptus oil getting rid of bed bugs?

A: Make a mess of the bed sheets. Apparently steam cleaning is the best way

Q: Anyone know how to make eucalyptus oil from eucalyptus leaves?
We have a tree in our backyard. :)

A: Making essential oil is a fairly detailed (although not extremely complicated) process. Please check the sources I posted for a number of websites giving detailed instructions. Essentially (no pun intended) ;-) you'll need a still of some sort, and you will need to let your plant material dry. Of course, you'll need water. Importantly, when you're finished making the oil, you'll need a dark container for storage (glass amber bottles are great) - if essential oils are exposed to light, they lose their potency & scent. Good luck! (if you want more sites, Google "how to make essential oils")
