Q: I have these tiny eucalyptus seeds that are the size of poppy seeds. My question is.How do i germinate these?
What time of year should i start to grow them?
A: Put them in a presciption bottle for two months in the refrigerater. Then sow them in a root trainer container at 60 degrees farenheit. Then plant them out in the yard at 12 months old....
Q: Is it generally good to keep seeds in the fridge for a week or two before planting them?
I've read somewhere (and sometimes the labels/instructions would say) that some seeds need to be in the fridge for a number of days so that it will germinate faster. Is this true for all types of seeds? What about seeds from fruits I buy in grocery? I've got olive (from garden shop), lemon and cherry seeds (from fruits from grocery store). I plan to get eucalyptus seeds (maybe from garden shop).
A: This is true for some seeds. Putting them in the freezer part to fool them into thinking they went through winter. But not for seeds in general. I keep mine in a a carboard box in a cool dry area. Not freezing.
Q: What are the botanical names for Silver Bell Eucalyptus, Seeded Red Eucalyptus and Coned Cedar?
Thank you
A: Eucalyptus cordata
silver-dollar eucalyptus
check this link is this what you mean? http://www.discoverlife.org/mp/20o?search=Eucalyptus+cordata&guide=Trees
can not find seeded red anywhere.
carolina silver bell is halesia tetraptera
coned cedar? That is not a common name for any cedar I can find. Are these names of things that are advertised as being in an arrangement or wreath? I think they are not really using plant names, but descriptive terms.
By coned cedar, I think they mean it is cedar boughs, with the cones still on. There are many cedar varieties, and they all bear cones.
By seeded red eucalyptus that may mean eucalyptus cuttings that have the seed pods on them.

Q: Eucalyptus plants?
I recently planted Eucatlyptus seeds a week ago and now they are sprouting, are there any secrets to making sure they grow up to be healthy plants?
A: First you need to buy some 4" pots, transfer the seedlings. One per pot. Lift each seedling with a plastic fork. plant the seedling just to the root zone, water in until it drips from bottom of pot, put the plants into a shady area to begin with, the after about a week move them to a bit more sunnier place, the bigger they are the more sun you can give them, Eucies love water, never under water these plants are they will die. When your 4" plants developer a good root stock you can put them in the ground or put them into a larger pot and continue to let them grow bigger and stronger, then plant them. Yes they do grow large. I don't know what variety you have but some are large than others. Another thing you can treat them as a hedge, in other words you can control the height. Dont' forget the fertilizer.
Good luck and Happy Planting, I think everyone should have at least one Eucalyptus plant.
Q: What statistical test do i need to use?
I'm carrying out an investigation to see how the concentration of eucalyptus oil affects seed germination. I will be doing 4 concentrations, and repeating them each 5 times. I need to use a statistical test, but was really confused over which to use between Mann-Whitney U test, Student t-test, Chi-squared and the Spearmans rank. Thanks!
A: Actually I am amazed that your not doing a mixed model regression equation to solve this. What you actually have is a repeated measures design but your wanting to use non-parametric tests instead.
Student -t /no increases chance of type 1 error
Chi/ no you do not have catagorical data
That leaves you the choice of only 2 procedures you want to choose from but remember you are still running the risk with type one errors,

Q: any ideas for home treatment of sinus allergy reaction?
The plane trees are letting their seeds go, they are really small with little hairs, they fly around like a swarm of insects when they are released, it made me sneeze violently yesterday, now there is post nasal drip (gross) and intense dryness.
Have done eucalyptus vapour and been drinking green tea, helps a bit but not much. Any other ideas to help remove symptoms?
A: My husband uses this to keep from getting bronchitis, and I use to to cure sinus infections. THere are many kinds of bacteria that live in the sinuses, and this gets rid of all the bad ones!.This is the only thing that really helped me --- my Dr. told me about a sinus wash that will kill bacteria.
you need
distilled water
sea salt
liquid chlorophyll and colloidal silver from the health food store.
in a glass mix 1/4 cup water with a pinch of salt and heat to body temperature.
add 5 drops each silver and chlorophyll and mix.
using a large dropper (like one used for infant medication) drop 2 full droppersfull into one side of the nose while laying down.
Turn the head and let it drain out the other nostril. Be sure to have paper towels handy.
The silver kills the bacteria and there are several hundred kind that can live in the sinus cavities and anti biotics don't get rid of them all.
Do this twice a day for a week, mixing up the mixture fresh each time.
Then do it once a week for maintenance.
There is nothing in this that will hurt you, and it cured me.
I do not have to take claritin, or antibiotics anymore.
best wishes
Q: trying to figure out what kind of tree i have...they look like eucalyptus but the leaves are very leathery?
the ;eaves feel rubby or sorta like leather, they are a dark green and hang downwards ,the branches are big but have lots of thin flexable branches hanging down so they "hang" like a eucalyptus tree, it is a fragrant tree ,cant describe the smell but not bad. i have a regular eucalyptus in the front so i know what one looks like , is there a particular name for this tree? oh and it has long seed pods hanging all over too.
A: Could you provide a picture?
Q: What is the best theist argument you have ever heard?
Best - most amusing - That Koalas have adapted to eating eucalyptus leaves since the flood, or were fed on dried leaves or eucalyptus oil or eucalyptus saplings while on the ark, and seeds of eucalyptus managed to grow through all the flood sediment in the course of a year.
A: I reckon the Nightmare Banana is in the top ten at least.
If you mean truly *good* arguments I have difficulty thinking of one that isn't based on a distortion, caricature or simply misapprehension of reality.
Paley's 'watchmaker' Arg from Design was a little bit clever, but wrong and ignorant of facts.
Ultimately almost all theist arguments come down to an Argument from Person Incredulity: "I don't understand the facts, and in my ignorance I conclude X."

Q: Bonsai Trees?
I have started a Bonsai Eucalyptus tree from seed. It is now big and healthy, but the "trunk" will not support the tree. Should I prune back the leaves? Will that encourage the "trunk" to strengthen? Or should I stake it and it will thicken up eventually?
A: http://www.canadiancountrywoman.com/garden/prunebonsai.php
here you go :)

Q: Witches: I would like to find an herb?
That would assist me in my quit-smoking spell. Some ideas I have are eucalyptus leaf, blessed thistle and fennel seed. I would like to make an incense of some choice herbs and would really appreciate your feedback. Thanks. :)
A: The first reply is very rude.
Consider Rosemary which is a protection from sickness. And Thyme for strength, courage, and bravery.
As already said, remember that these are tools. They have no real use in and of themselves but only serve to help YOU find the focus and strength to allow you to overcome your addiction.
Q: What hair product can be used for horses that we use?
I have some stuff called Lustrasilk Growth Therapy and it is blended with Herbal Cholesterol (It is a leave in conditioner). I was wondering can I use this for a horses tail and mane?
Ingredients:
Petrolatum, Carrot (Daucus Carota Sativa Seed) Oil, Cholesterol, Eucalyptus Leaf Herbal Complex, Lanolin, Safflower (Carthamus Tinctorius Seed) Oil, Vitamin A (Retinyl Palmitate), Provitamin B5 (Panthenol), Propyl Paraben, Fragrance (Parfum), D&C Yellow #11, D&C Red #17.
Those are the ingredients in there do you think that this is a good leave-in conditioner that I could use for a horse?
Are there any other hair care products that we use that can be used for a horse (shampoos and leave-in conditioners)?
A: You can use just about anything. I use the Red products to help with my horse's shine and it works fine. Besides, most of the products you could use were first tested on animals...
